In 2014, Comcast debuted their CDN service. With their own CDN in place, Comcast can deliver a better experience to their already existing consumer base. Unique in the CDN landscape, we can label Comcast a B2C CDN service provider.
As the ISP, cable owner and CDN provider, Comcast is able to offer an excellent SLA and potentially lower pricing, when compared to 3rd party CDN providers who do not own the network they operate on.
The Comcast CDN is regional and offers PoPs within the US only. The CDN service is therefore not suited for businesses with a global userbase, unless it is combined with other CDN providers in a multi-CDN setup. Warpcache is a multi-CDN provider that offers the Comcast CDN in combination with others.
Comcast is a very suitable provider for a multi-CDN setup. Warpcache resells multiple providers, both in an integrated multi-CDN solution and separately.
Quantil is the US subsidiary of mothercompany ChinaNetCenter, and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California. The company was originally named MileWEB, but when global sales operations were launched in 2014 the subsidiary was renamed to Quantil.
With over 550 points-of-presence (PoPs) in mainland China and 38 more in the rest of the world, Quantil’s network map is expansive.
Just like ChinaNetCenter, Quantil supports a wide range of web delivery services such as website acceleration, mobile acceleration, large download delivery, video-on-demand and live streaming.
For businesses operating their website in mainland China, it is recommended to apply for an ICP license. Most CDN providers offer to aid clients with this process, Quantil included. Without an ICP license, Chinese Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are required to block access to the website.
To compare Quantil against other providers, enter your provider of choice in the search field at the bottom of this page to view the full comparison.
The CDN service of Quantil and ChinaNetCenter is resold by other parties, among which Warpcache. Get in touch here for more information about delivering web content in China, or to request pricing information and / or a custom quote.
Next to mainland China CDN coverage, Warpcache resells other global CDN providers both separately, and in a multi-CDN solution.
