Incapsula Inc. provides a variety of CDN services, from the network itself to security, load balancing, failover solutions and DDoS protection. The company spun out from data security company Imperva in 2009. Incapsula launched Botopedia in 2012, a directory that includes community-sourced information about bots.
At the core of Incapsula’s feature offering lies the content delivery network and a variety of security features such as web application firewall (WAF) and DDoS mitigation.
Incapsula composes comparison tables of its own, which can be viewed on their website - providers they compare themselves to are Akamai and CloudFlare. In the comparison tables they dive deeper into the various security features within the content delivery ecosystem.
Like most other CDN providers, Incapsula integrates well with a variety of Content Management Systems (CMS) and also offers a downloadable extension on their website for Joomla. The extension improves security and performance for Joomla. Other security solutions for third parties offered by Incapsula are targeted at clients hosting with Rackspace, Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. All three of these also offer their own CDN solution.
G-Core, or G-Core Labs S.A. is an IT solutions provider based in Luxembourg, with offices in Moscow, Minsk and Perm. In 2017 G-Core Labs acquired SkyparkCDN. The company offers a variety of services such as peering network, hosting and CDN services. G-Core was founded in 2014 by the team behind Wargaming Interactive, the Russian game development studio of World of Tanks and World of Warships.
Developed to support online gaming, G-Core’s core KPIs are low latency, high availability and cost optimisation. From their experience with the Wargaming user base, a gaming-tailored CDN and IT infrastructure emerged that is both suitable for gaming parties, as well as clients in any other web content industry. G-core’s infrastructure was the backbone for the world record of (‘Most Players Online Simultaneously on one MOG Server’), officially awarded to Wargaming, for serving 1.114.000 gamers simultaneously.
G-Core is what we consider a local or regional CDN provider and focuses on the Russia and CIS region. With 15 PoPs spread across all regions in Russia and CIS, the company aims to provide the most optimal content delivery to gamers and web users in the area. However, they have also expanded outside of Russia and the CIS region with PoPs in Europe, North-America, and Asia for a total of 36 PoPs.
Next to their CDN services, G-Core provides cloud hosting, co-location, DDoS protection, private information policy assistance and a wide range of support services to their clients. G-Core uses OpenStack to manage their networking, compute and storage resources.
